- "Christmas in Hollis" by Run DMC - Only my favorite Christmas song of all time. There's nothing like sitting down with the family to sing some Christmas carols and to bring out this yuletide classic. Once I sang this while caroling and got a door slammed in my face though. Santa was very proud of his acting performance in the video and actually couldn't believe how many Adidas sneakers without laces he delivered to Run DMC over the years.
- "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" by The Boss - Santa apparently loves this song and loves Bruce Springsteen. I'm actually a fan of this song, but couldn't really get in any words. Santa just wouldn't shut up about the greatness of Springsteen.
- "Rumpshaker" by Wreckx-n-Effect - Boy, Santa can dance. Funny thing is that once this song started a party broke out. Elves came out, especially women elves wearing next to nothing with a steady stream of water and sponges. I thought to myself, am I in a car wash? At that point the song ended and it was just me and Santa.
- "Bang" by Gorky Park - Wow, color me impressed. Santa has the obscure '80s Russian heavy metal band on his IPOD. Little known fact is these guys were the opening band on the charity concert in Russia in the '80s with Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Skid Row, Scorpions, Ozzy, etc. Rumor has it they moved to America shortly after the concert but had received fake phone numbers from all of the bands.
- "Doogie Howser Theme Song" - Makes you pine for the simpler times where all the world just worried about whether Doogie and Wanda could make their love work in such an adult world. There were no wars, no poverty, and no sadness. There was just Doogie and Wanda - and I know I felt more secure knowing if they could make it, then so could I.

yeah well, daughter number 1 wants to know if God lets him have an IPOD. Being 7, she asked what I like to call a check mate question.
ReplyDelete"If Santa is in the North Pole, then why do people call him Saint Nick. Saints are dead and in heaven".
I think God listens to good stuff.
Jesus probably listens to gangsta rap. DMX, to be more specific.
FYI, that ad is what I was trying for. Thanks for taking over..The Melanie is exhausted.
