God Bless You
Maybe I'm a jerk, but I refuse to say "God Bless You" when someone sneezes when I'm working. Now, I don't mean when I'm actually talking to someone. Rather, as I work in my cube and someone in the cube next to me sneezes. And this happens pretty frequently, as the woman next to me sneezes at least 5 times a day. Yet I persevere.
We have been trained at a young age to say "God Bless You" whenever someone sneezes. It's considered polite. And I do it when talking to someone. But my refusal to do it while working does make me feel a little weird. Still, am I really expected to say "God Bless You" 5 times a day, 25 times a week, 1,250 times a year? Is that really part of being in the workplace? I say no and therefore refuse to do it. Maybe I'm a jerk. Well, actually I know I am. But maybe not for this.
