Science is For Nerds

I'm not a nerd. Nerds are smart.

I'm a little late on the whole Bush veto thing so I'll make this short and sweet. Really, this is the bill you're gonna veto? The one with 63% approval in the Senate and 70% approval by the US people. It's almost like he's trying his damndest to make every wrong decision possible. Either that or he's just giving up on presidentin' and will just use the next 2+ years to make the White House his fraternity. I mean, don't people know that science is for nerds and all the cool kids can't be bothered with all that book learnin'. I mean, wouldn't you just rather have a beer and grope a foreign leader than take the time to understand the issue.

For those not familiar, here are the options - either discard the embryotic stem cells or allow science to use them to try to find a cure for diseases. The legislation was very explicit that only stem cells that were being discarded would be used for scientific research. So any parallels made to abortion are truly fabricated (unless you claim the cells should not be discarded which no one is arguing). So if using the cells for scientific purposes is murder as Tony Snow claims the most incompetent president ever who can't ride a bike or eat a pretzel believes, why does he not charge clinics discarding these cells with murder? Or propose legislation to that effect? What a disgrace!!!

At the end of the day it really doesn't matter since science is for nerds. As Max Fisher said in "Rushmore" - Maybe I'm spending too much of my time starting up clubs and putting on plays. I should probably be trying harder to score chicks.

Truly - scientists should stop spending so much time trying to cure diseases and solve the world's problems and just relax, drink beer, and try to score with chicks.
