Dwyane Wade

In general, I try to stay away from hyperbole and making loud pronouncements before someone has proven themselves. At least with respect to sports. I prefer to let time dictate who are the truly special, ie, the greatest of all time. For more times than not the next whoever turns out to be a slightly better than average player. One just needs to look at Harold Miner, the high flying USC guard who was the first "next Jordan". Then there was Jerry Stackhouse, Grant Hill, Vince Carter...But after last night's game, I must applaud Dwyane Wade. What he has done in this year's playoffs is truly remarkable. And for me, it's his resiliency that is the key to a future greatest ever debate. He willed his team to victory in Games 3 and Game 5. Without him, the Mavs are already NBA Champs. Better yet, without his determination to win, the Heat would have already been eliminated. I know it's still too early into his NBA career, but it's hard not to become giddy in anticipation of what the future holds for D-Wade. Who knows, maybe he'll make me a NBA fan again.

Then again, I probably just jinxed him for the next 2 games.

it's funny. Watching that game last night, I too thought of Baby Jordan and what the hell he must be thinking as he hears all these (much better) players being compared to Jordan.

I just wish someone would compare players to crappy players. Imagine if someone compared a draft prospect to Baby Jordan. Or if last year someone spoke the truth and said Andrew Bogut reminds me of a slightly better Chris Mihm. Imagine the hilarity if some international player was compared favorably to Darko.
