New Republican Tactic: Cry on Cue?

It looks like the new White House Press Secretary has snowjobbed the press Corp. Tony Snow, the Pillsbury Boy replacement shed tears Tuesday, while talking about his battle with cancer and his mom's untimely death. The former Fox News actor break out performance was well received by White House reporters. The next lines are from the article:

Rebecca Cooper of television station WJLA, ABC's Washington affiliate, prompted Snow's emotional discussion of cancer by asking him about his yellow bracelet, worn by supporters of Lance Armstrong's cancer foundation.

She said after the briefing, "I know I am supposed to be objective, but I was moved by it."

Forgive me for being disrespectful. I understand that his fight with cancer and his mom's early death are extremely sensitive issues. That being said, I wonder if he used the experience so that the press would take it easy on him. No doubt the press turned Scotty into their own personal punching bag. It would be a calculated move to appear more humane. Anyone who torments him with questions would look like a bully. It's hard not question, Tony's sincerity. After all Republicans, George Bush, millionaires, and Fox News have all proven that they can't be trusted.
