Tom DeLay Resigns from Congress

President's good ally and friend Tom DeLay will be resigning from Congress, because of mounting legal troubles. Don't expect him to leave quietly though, DeLay blamed "Liberal Democrats" for making his re-election campaign pure hell.

"I refuse to allow liberal Democrats an opportunity to steal this seat with a negative personal campaign," DeLay said. "The voters of the 22nd district of Texas deserve a campaign about the vital national issues that they care most about and that affect their lives every day and not a campaign focused solely as a referendum on me."

This is a guy who has ties to Jack Abramoff and is under indictment because of allegations corresponding to illegal use of funds for state legislative races. Already his former aid Tony Rudy confessed that illegal activity happened while working for DeLay. It is only a matter of time before the hammer falls. How is corruption not an issue? Do the people in 22nd district deserve better? As far as Democrats playing politics, how about when DeLay tried to impeach Clinton over a sexual matter? I think allegations surrounding DeLay are more serious than the Clinton matter.
