Pre Emptive Strikes
Since I believe the idiots running this country have already decided to launch a pre-emptive strike against Iran, I thought it was a good time to illustrate the stupidity of this theory. What a tarnished American, where we can torture, attack countries that never attacked us, and more. But I digress - this is about the policy of a pre-emptive strike.
Let's think about this as if the US was a person and had to obey US laws. Under limited circumstances, assault up to murder is justified. I'm no lawyer so I'll keep this simple. Would I be justified in murdering my neighbor if he threatened to harm me? Now, this probably depends on the exact circumstances but I would argue that the majority of the time I would be in jail. And I believe this to be the case especially if my neighborhood never actually attacked me. But what if I thought my neighbor had a gun and if he did he would inevitably use it to murder me in my sleep some day. So far he has just called me names, but I'm pretty certain he's insane so that probably means he'll make the huge leap to murder someday. Is there any court that would not convict me? What about if the police never found the gun when searching his home?
The problem with a pre-emptive strike is that you don't know what would have happened. Sure, if we knew about 9/11 beforehand I would want the US to have done everything possible to prevent it. But please tell me how exactly a pre-emptive strike would prevent another 9/11. Unfortunately the world is very global and includes many angry people. I guess you could blow up everyone but the US, but would that make us 100% safe from an attack? I guess people may have forgotten about the Oklahoma City bombing - the answer is no.
I just see this all turning out badly. This administration is just like one of those evil villains in an action movie like "Die Hard". They will eventually screw up and unfortunately it will be the US citizens that will suffer. If these guys had their way, the world would not even exist anymore. We would have attacked The Soviet Union in the '70s when most served under Nixon and ensured the destruction of this world.
Please, will someone please remove these idiots from power.

Pre-emptive laws and pre-emptive wars are completely disastrous, are fundamentally authoritarian and anti-social.

I believe that George W. Bush and his pals will pay for their crimes. The recent arrest of Chuck Taylor shows that there are consequences for people's actions. It might take awhile, but justice will be served.
I hope you are right. I don't want to be part of the generation that saw the demise of the USA.
