Kennedy Brings Back American Values in New Book

The Republican controlled media likes to brainwash the public into believing that the Democrats have no ideas or direction. Such nonsense, would be easy to refute if the Democrats were afforded equal opportunity to speak.

While Democrats fight for our rights, many Republicans work to take them away. Instead of health care reform, education, strong economy, and democracy; we get deficits, endless war, war profiteering, corruption, shrinking middle class, gas gouging, sky high health insurance bills, underfunding of social security, vanishing rights, and tax cuts for the rich.

Senator Kennedy in his new book: "America Back On Track" outlines several challenges which our country needs to overcome in order to be successful.

• The first challenge is to reclaim our constitutional democracy and keep it vital for the future.
• The second challenge is to develop a new definition of national security for a changed world.
• The third challenge is to participate fully in a shrinking world.
• The fourth challenge is to achieve an economy that works for all, not just for a privileged few.
• The fifth challenge is to provide health care to every American.
• The sixth challenge is to resume the march of progress toward equal opportunity for all.
• The seventh challenge is to restore our basic values and reunite our nation.
  

Senator Kennedy's "crazy" plan is not that radical. It harks back to an era when the factory man could put food on the table and live in a nice home. Now you can't even do that in some parts of the USA with both parents working. Looking out for your fellow man is a Christian value and argueably an American one as well. It's not charity, it is just leveling the playing field so that CEOs are not making 100 times the salary of the average worker.

It's expected that the Republicans Filth Machine (Hannity, Coulter, Limbaugh, and so forth) will go in overdrive to mock these strong American values. The land of the free and home of the brave is just a saying that applies to them and their rich friends not to the rest of us.

Our country is in grave danger of losing the qualities, which define our greatness. Social Security, Medicare, Bankruptcy Protection, Small Business Loans, and Education were not created as ways to steal money out of people's pockets. They were created to ensure that everyone in this country would have the opportunity to succeed and also to protect people from life's mishaps.

It can be thought of as an equal access to the American Dream, something that most Republicans do not want people to have. The sad fact is that they are afraid of us and what we are capable of doing when we get organized. The political winds are shifting in this country and there will be hell to pay. The voters are waking up to the realization that we are stuck in a corrupt one party system. Most politicians are not interested in us. They are only interested in lining their pockets and enriching their friends. Be fearful corrupt leaders, your days of plunder are coming to an end. Don't let the door hit you in the butt on your way out.
