The Chili Diet
I'm filling in for an open position with my client and will be onsite indefinitely starting today. This corresponds with my recent attempts to eat healthier and workout. I'll be working more hours so I may not be able to work out. However, it will allow me to try out my chili diet. Basically, this idea is exactly as it sounds. There is a cafeteria and they serve chili every day. With a 20oz of Coke, the lunch will be $2.98, which has to be comparable to my normal making a lunch (carrots, granola bar, turkey sandwich, pretzels). Not sure how healthy this will be exactly, but it can't be too bad. For one thing, the calories have to be less than my normal lunch. Add in a chicken sandwich or veggie burger with soup as a dinner and you have my diet. Plus, when I don't feel like chili I can have a salad. I just need to make sure I stay away from grilled ham and cheese sandwiches with fries. Now, if only I also cut down on my beer consumption. I'll keep you updated on my progress.

you can lose weight anytime you stick to one food.
I recommend the stag chili.
I recommend the Small Portions / Beer Diet with 30 minute jog every day. I lost about 25 pounds in 8 weeks. It's fast, easy, and safe.
It works as follows:
Eat half of what you used to eat. Don't worry about what you are eating so much. If you want a chocolate go for a minature, but only have one. In other words smaller portions.
Admittedly I went a little overboard on this. My wife is only 5 foot 1 and I'm 5 foot 11. Right now my food intake is about the same as hers. That's fine for a little while but I now need to increase it.
The bottom line is that we gain weight because we eat more than we use up. The hard part is finding out what is the correct amount of food intake for you.
Oh I forgot another component of this thing. Only eat when you are hungry and spread out your meal throughout the day. For instance I'll eat half my sandwich at lunch. The other half at 2:30pm and a piece of fruit at 5:00pm. For breakfast I will have a half bowl of cereal and a half glass of OJ. My dinners are pretty normal just a little bit smaller. The idea is never to get full and never feel hungry. It takes a couple of weeks but your body will adjust.
Thanks - I actually like this idea because the chili is enough so I'm not starving but not nearly enough to make me feel full.
The exercise thing is going to be a little tricky. I'm already going to have to wake up much earlier for my new role so I'm not sure if I can do it before work. And I don't do so well after work. I'll have to make it work though.
