Biography: Milli Vanilli's Fab Morvan
Life has been tough for Fab Morvan ever since November 17, 1990 when he confessed to the media that he and Rob Pilatus never sang on any of their albums. Fans were outraged that MTv's Best New Artists and Grammy winner duped them. Perhaps it didn't help matters that Rob compared himself to Paul McCartney, Elvis Presley, Mick Jagger, Paul Simon and Bob Dylan weeks earlier.
"Oh I'm still very much like those guys," said Rob in a 1995 interview. "I eat, sleep, and occasionally have promiscuous sex."
The confession caused a media storm. Class action lawsuits were filed by embarrassed consumers to get refunds from assorted Milli Vanilli products which included: posters, t-shirts, CDs, tapes, concert tickets, cock rings, condoms, and action figures. Not everyone submitted for a refund though,
Several years later, Rob and Fab tried to release a new album where they did all their own singing. On the night of the release, Rob decide to die from an overdose. Critics claimed that he wanted to escape Fab forever, a relationship, which was growing hostile. Also he was embarrassed to be associated with Fab.
Although Fab misses Rob daily and crys like a baby when he hears "Girl I am going to miss you," he says time heals all wounds.
"I have moved on. I have a very successful business entertaining children. You know Mikey Winston on 321 West Pine Street, Hollywood Hills? His daddy paid me big bucks to perform for his eighth birthday. You should swing on by and see how good I am," offered Rob in a recent press conference.
"Perhaps it was the environment, but Rob was completely off at Mikey's bash. His singing reminded of me of a hideous mixture of Karen Walker's voice from Will and Grace and Gilbert Gottfried on speed imitating Donald Duck. His trademark dance moves were lacking originality and seemed completely uninspired at times. The kids were throwing birthday cake and making faces at him the whole time. It was pretty entertaining, but I'm not sure if it's what Fab envisioned," stated Wess Little of the Oakwood High School Newspaper.
"They loved me," said Rob. "I totally rocked Mikey Winston's world! Don't call it a comeback though; I never went away."
