We Live in a Police State

This is truly disturbing. For those who disagree, tell me how we are not living in a police state. We won the Cold War for this? There are lots of problems with using data mining to identify terrorists - I work in data mining so I'm aware of its inherent problems in identifying terrorists. But here's an example that just illustrates the problem.

They paid down some debt. The balance on their JCPenney Platinum MasterCard
had gotten to an unhealthy level. So they sent in a large payment, a check for
$6,522. And an alarm went off.

A red flag went up. The Soehnges' behavior was found questionable.

And all they did was pay down their debt. They didn't call a suspected
terrorist on their cell phone. They didn't try to sneak a machine gun through
customs.
...

They were told, as they moved up the managerial ladder at the call center,
that the amount they had sent in was much larger than their normal monthly
payment. And if the increase hits a certain percentage higher than that normal
payment, Homeland Security has to be notified. And the money doesn't move until
the threat alert is lifted.

So maybe you, Democrats, might start fighting against these illegal activities. Maybe stop calling the NSA program an important tool in the war on terror.

Imagine if you get put on a terror list for paying off a bill too fast - that can't be easy or fun to get your name off the list. Now how about if you talk on the phone and mention 9/11, which is a buzzword so you get put on the list. Or the 9/11 people used planes, so maybe we should flag everyone who says plane. It's a slippery slope.

Just another lie from the most incompetent president ever who can't even ride a bike without falling off it - "if you're talking to Al Qaeda we want to know about it" should be amended now to "if you're talking to Al Qaeda or making an unusually large credit card payment to pay off your debt we want to know about it."
