Taken At Face Value

I'm getting very tired of the media making excuses for Republican politicians. They are quick to dismiss or explain away anything that might be problematic. Given the crap that's occurred the last 7+ years, it's about time they started taken Republicans at face value. In 2000 they bent over backwards to explain away his intellectual, well, uncuriousity. So he may not know the names of world leaders, good thing he'll surround himself with experienced guys like Cheney and Rumsfeld. He may claim he's gonna expand religion into the political sphere, but he just means a little bit. And when he claims the president's job is to make the laws, well, he's a guy I'd like to have a beer with. His incessant repetition of Al Qaida in Iraq, well, either he's confused or he has information we are not privvy to. No need to actually challenge his assertion.

So when McCain proposes tax cuts that will do almost exclusively to the wealthiest 1%, even more so then the Bush tax cuts, it's probably safe to take him at his word. And when he sings "Bomb Bomb Iran", mentions being in Iraq for 100 years, and asserts that Iran and Al Qaida are in cahoots, it's safe to assume he actually means it. So it's probably your job to inform the American people so that the majority who are against Iraq or further occupation of countries that have never attacked us will know that McCain intends to do just that.
