Little Miss Sunshine

I'm a little slow when it comes to seeing movies, which explains my lack of Oscar predictions. But I finally got around to 2007 nominee "Little Miss Sunshine". It seems every year there is a similar movie nominated for best picture. I don't mean to be disparaging but the best world I can think of is precious. That's what I kept thinking as I watched this movie. That's not to say these movies are bad - in general I like them. They just seem to exist in their own universe.

So overall I just thought "Little Miss Sunshine" was alright. I did enjoy most of the acting performances but especially Alan Arkin. He's one of the most underappreciated actors we have. However, the movie just didn't work for me. I didn't find it especially funny. The humor was along the lines of saying oh that was clever vs just reacting with laughter. And towards the end of the movie I really didn't care if they made it to Redondo Beach.

I'm sure other people will feel differently but I don't care if I ever see "Little Miss Sunshine" again.
