Please get this guy off my radio. Well, I'm not really forced to listen to him so I guess that's a false statement. However, it's a crazy world when this guy can make a very good living as a major Chicago sports personality. For he is Mike North. And he is an idiot.

I guess his popularity is based on the fact that he's the typical dumb Chicago sports fan. The guy who says some of the most asinine stuff imaginable and actually think he's being astute. Living in Chicago, you meet a lot of these people. And if you're like me, they always want to argue with you even though they make no sense. They apparently live in some parallel world or have defective eyes or some type of brain defect. It's the only way to explain some of their thought processes. For example:

- Kyle Orton should be the Bears quarterback because he was like 11-3 3 years ago as a rookie even though he regularly threw for less than 100 yards with abysmal passer ratings. To the idiot, the record proves he's a championship caliber QB. To anyone with a pulse, they realize the Bears won because they would get multiple turnovers and usually score on one or two turnovers and the Bears would run for over 100 yards.

- The White Sox did not repeat in 2006 because they let Aaron Rowand leave to go to the Phillies. Yeah, that Aaron Rowand who brought, well, no championships to the Phillies.

So this week I heard a great one. It turns out the Tigers were foolish to trade for Miguel Cabrera because they already have Brandon Inge. To fully appreciate the idiocy, let's take a look at some stats:

Inge: .236 BA, .312 OBP, .376 SLG, 14 HR ,71 RBI, 64 Runs, 9 SB, 18 Errors
Cabrera: .320 BA, .401 OBP, .565 SLG, 34 HR, 119 RBI, 91 Runs, 2 SB, 23 Errors

I'll give you the defense, as errors can be a misleading stat to accurately show the difference between players. But really, Mike? For God's sake, Cabrera's Batting Average was better than Inge's OBP. These 2 players aren't even in the same conversation. Yeah, I'm sure NO GMs would prefer Inge to Cabrera no matter what intangibles you see in Inge. Not to mention that Inge is 30 and Cabrera is only 24.
