Mr Ego

At this point, after these last 7+ years, it's fairly obviously all about the ego. For no one whose honest would say there is no difference between the parties. Especially when said guy claims to lean to the far left. But when you are a petty, egotistical little man this stuff doesn't matter. All that matters is you.

As a liberal, I harbor no ill will to Nader for 2000. At the time it wasn't that hard to believe there was no difference between the parties. I may have not liked his influence, but at least I understood where he was coming from. Now, I have no clue what he's trying to achieve. If he really thinks the country needs another 4 years of Republican rule, then go ahead. For that's the only influence he can peddle. Not that I'm worried about his influence. Again, he's a little man whose day has come and gone. He is meaningless which is rather sad for someone who should be held in higher esteem. But that's what happens when you let your ego take over.

So go ahead and run again. I would prefer it if our system allowed us more than 2 real options. But sadly it currently does not. And you are not doing anything to move us forward. You are a relic from the past, from a time when we thought it didn't matter who was the president. Times have changed, rendering you irrelevant. Good Luck!

Good News for McCain! Nader reached his nadir playing chicken in 2000. Look around you and see what that has cost us. When you're trying to take the country back from fascists, you ought not to play with toy soldiers. Nader's constituency is the scrap heap of history and, by shunning his ass, that's where we can consign him.

Ralph Nader is the only candidate to speak the truth, and realise how corrupt and unconstitutional the voting system, US politics in general and the media has become. He's a genuine liberal and the supposedly left-leaning Democrats take turns in criticizing him, it's pathetic.

He's against any war-mongering against Iran, while Hilary and Obama have been quick to rattle the sabres.

Perhaps there's some egotism in his constant decision to run, but it's been bloated and exaggerated by the press. It's not about if he'll win or not, it's about freedom of speech, and a third independent party is absolutely essential for maintaining it. Especially in the days were both main parties policies are identical, apart from their phrasing. What do you really think Hilary will do differently to Bush? Obama wouldn't have a clue either.

Sorry about the rant, but Nader's such an easy scapegoat, someone had to stand up for him.

If he's so concerned about a 3rd Party, why is he silent for the 3+ years between elections?

And given our lax safety standards of the last 7+ years, I would expect a safety advocate to be speaking out and trying to make things better. Instead, it's crickets.
