Fasten Your Seatbelts

Well, the Rapture Index is still at Fasten Your Seatbelt levels at 155. In fact, it has been at this same level for all of 2006. This begs the question - how useful is the index if it remains at the exact same level 99% of the time? It would be like if Starbucks suddenly offered a 2oz, 4oz, and 16oz coffee. I guess it's possible someone might order a 2oz or 4oz but for all intensive purposes there is only 1 size. That's what the Rapture Index appears to be. In anticipation of my being left on Earth with my clothes to battle it out with every non-believer, here are some highlights:

  • Satanism is reported to be flourishing in Russia
  • The economies of The U.S. and Japan show healthy growth
  • The latest report on Iran has it still falling short of having enough enriched uranium for a single nuclear bomb
  • The U.S. Patriot Act has failed to get enough votes for extension
  • The increase in the frequency of Hurricanes has experts wondering if there is a connection to climate change
