Webster's Alex Karras
Known as Sir or George Papadapolis to those in the Webster universe, Alex Karras rose to fame in the metro-Detroit area as a member of the Lions. Don't feel bad if you never heard of the Lions, nobody outside of mid-west and hard-core NFL cares to mention the consistently awful NFL team except in ridicule and derision. This macho mustached thespian/professional sports hero played the ultimate TV dad to a kid who was really 7-8 years older than the character he played. I ask you, who didn't get the warm fuzzies in their belly whenever Webster got tickled? Certainly not the National Pedophilia Society (NPS) whose numbers tripled between the years 1983-1987! Legend has it that the original series name was "Another Ballgame" and then it was changed to "Then Came You." Alex Karras and Susan Clark (Madame, the lady with femme-mullet who played the mom type character.) were pissed when the name finally changed to "Webster” due to Emmanuel Lewis's sugary performance.
Anyways, I have a friend who used to do phone surveys for various products. One time, he asked the great Alex Karras about his fondness for his Cadillac. Talk about an honor! The guy made the Pro Bowl four times plus he was in the made for TV movie: "Mighty Moose and the Quarterback Kid." I imagine these days the 71 year old Gary Indiana native is cruising around in a pimped up Cadillac listening to some Snoop Dogg or Dr. Dre. Yeah Alex Karras is that cool.
