Laverne is ugly

I never knew what the Fonz saw in Laverne (Penny Marshal). Of the two Milwaukee fuglies, Shirley was the attractive one. Shirley had potential but Laverne was always a loser hence the big crotched "L" she was forced to wear on all her clothes. I grew up believing the Fonz was invincible and seeing the Happy Days crossover episode crushed my spirits. Why Fonz, why? How could you sink so low? It didn't end with Laverne's looks either. Her high pitched voice was rumored to open garage doors and cause dogs to bark out of control. Lenny and Squiggy were brought in to minimize Laverne's pitch but they only ended up contributing to the problem. Many repeat viewers complained about loss of hearing years later. It is negligent that ABC never issued a warning suggesting that viewers turn down the treble on their TV sets when watching the many adventures of Laverne and Shirley.
